Provencal Mas beautifully renovated whilst retaining the old charming atmosphere. Through the central hall, the large (35 m²) dining kitchen is to the right. The kitchen has a dishwasher, oven, microwave, American fridge (with cold water / ice cube dispenser) and a dining table seating 10 people. Off the hall to the left you go to the large (50 m²) living room with spacious sitting area and additional dining table. The living room has several antique cupboards which have been bought from a local antique dealer. In the living room with fire place is a satellite TV (Dutch and French channels), a DVD player and an iPod-speaker.
Stairs take you up to the 2 bedrooms (each with 2 single beds which can easily be converted to double beds) and a large bathroom (double wash basin and walk inn shower, separate toilet). The master bedroom with its own large bathroom with bath tub, shower and toilet is also on this floor. Those 3 bedrooms are airconditioned.
From the living room on the ground floor, you walk into a separate room with a large hall, here there is a small desk. Along this hall is 1) a large guest room with a sitting area (with 2 single beds or 1 double bed) 2) a smaller bedroom with 2 single beds 3) Separate toilet and a bathroom with shower. In the storage room are the washing machine and dryer. There is a children’s bed (fold up bed).
Please note; Although the villa has 5 bedrooms, it is rented out to a maximum of 8 people.
From the village Cotignac it is a 5 minute drive through the vineyards to the house. The last part of the trip is over the private driveway through the olive trees, along your own, century’s old water well, to the house. There are plenty of parking spaces for several cars. The terrace in front of the house is surrounded by Mulberry trees, creating a rural atmosphere. Under the thatched roofed terrace you can sit in the shade and enjoy the view. There are natural stone stairs leading down from the terrace to the swimming pool. Around the pool are olive trees which provide shelter.
There is a large terrace with hardwood sun beds and a sitting area with authentic French metal beds. In the mornings you can sit at the large wooden table with wooden benches and enjoy your breakfast in the sun. There is a large dug in trampoline and a ping pong table for the children. At the side of the house is a lounge area where you can relax. There is also a large wooden table so you can enjoy the late afternoon sun while dining outside (there is a Weber barbeque). You can enjoy the sun throughout the day, but if you prefer, you can also sit out in the shade.
The old trees around the house provide plenty of shade on hot days. Please note: Due to the natural stones “restangues” (stone walls which divide the grounds in terraces) the area directly around the house might be less suitable for adventurous toddlers. Please check the photos to judge for yourself if it is suitable for your child. The swimming pool can be closed off by a shutter to prevent children falling in.
Upon request additional services can be provided in the villa for dinner, dishes, groceries etc.
From the house you can make various cycling (mountain bikes) and hiking tours. You are actually in the middle of a natural hilly area with a lot of small paths, which take you past vineyards and woods or along small villages. Cotignac is a lively village, famous for its original atmosphere, with many restaurants and terraces underneath the large plane trees. You should also visit the cave houses behind the village.
You can take trips to Lac St. Croix (30 minutes drive; go surfing, sailing, go on a paddle boat, swimming), Gorges du Verdon (45 minutes, beautiful gorge, you can go walking, take a paddle boat or go swimming) but also go to “le village dans le ciel” Tourtour (30 minutes from where you have a wonderful view).
If you like to seek out the hustle and bustle of the coast, it will only take you an hour to get to the beaches of St. Maxime, St. Tropez, Le Lavandou etc. You can also take in the culture in Aix en Provence (1 hour). Do you like playing golf? You can go to the famous golf course of Barbaroux (30 minutes). And then we have not even mentioned the many Provencal markets or the vide grenier and bric-a-brac markets that are everywhere during the summer.

Around the Provençal town of Draguignan are the famous vineyards of the Côtes de Provence. The last few years many people have chosen this lovely area as their holiday destination. Especially Lorgues is popular, a typical Provencal market town with a medieval center surrounded by a beautiful landscape of pine forests, oak trees, olive groves and vineyards. Nearby are picturesque villages such as Carcès , Taradeau, Vidauban, St Antonin du Var, Les-Arcs-sur-Argens and the charming mountain village of Flayosc with several fine restaurants. In Thoronet is the famous Abbey, surrounded by lavender fields. Try also the delicious typical Provencal rosé at one of the many vineyards. Or opt for a truffle dinner at Restaurant Bruno in Lorgues.
