It's a state-of-the-art water and energy-efficient house, with solar panels and a large battery for solar energy storage. An air-to-water maker (Genaq), a water recycling system (Hydraloop), rainwater collection, and a large water reservoir (30,000 liters) ensure that water restrictions in the area won't apply. The water maker produces between 150-450 liters of drinking water per day. All the shower water in the house is collected by the Hydraloop water recycler, which purifies and disinfects the water. This recycled water is used to flush toilets and run the washing machine. By creating a buffer of water in the large reservoir through rainwater collection and the water maker during the winter, there is enough water available throughout the summer to refill the biological pool, which has been prohibited in this region since 2023 but can still be done this way. The house is also still connected to the water supply and the electricity grid as a backup.
