Fort Royal - Île Sainte-Marguerite

This fort has been used long as a state prison. In 1687, "the man with the iron mask" should have been captured here. The identity of this legend was never obsolete. The fort houses the Musée de la Mer. During the high season, both the fort and the museum can be visited daily from 10h00 - 17h45.
